Nicholas Brandmeir, MD

Dr. Nicholas Brandmeir is a neurosurgeon at West Virginia University Hospitals and Associate Professor at the WVU School of Medicine. Dr. Brandmeir heads the residency program and neuro ICU at WVU. Additionally, Dr. Brandmeir is dual trained in Neurosurgery and as a Neurointensivist. His clinical research interests range from exploring different therapies in which active fluid exchange can assist patients to exploring the clinical impacts of postural instability on people with movement disorders as well as ways to modify or improve postural instability with neuro-stimulation. Dr. Brandmeir is also interested in evidence-based medicine and applying new and rigorous study design techniques to neurosurgical applications.
As Past President of the ACE Society, he led efforts to advance procedural education and clinical excellence in neurosurgery.
